HEARTS TAKES WIN ON DUNDEE WITH ONLY 10 PLAYERS ON FIELD
To keep their lead in the Scottish Premiership title race, ten-player Hearts persevered against a stubborn Dundee and won by a slim margin.
Alexander Schwolow was promptly called into action to deny Billy Koumetio as Dundee tried to extend their winning run to four. Derek McInnes wants to make "every game count" in their push to break the Old Firm's dominant supremacy.
The hosts were irritated when Hearts scored with their first goal attempt. Cammy Delvin took the fast free-kick in the build-up, and Claudio Braga hammered a low drive in off the post from 20 yards as Dundee claimed the ball was rolling. As halftime drew near, Schwolow knocked down Tony Yogane outside the box. The goalie believed the offside flag had spared him, but after being summoned to the monitor, the referee showed him red.
For the first time this season, Craig Gordon replaced him in the Hearts goal and promptly stopped Dundee. Then, in stoppage time, the 43-year-old made a superb save to maintain their title challenge.
