PARAGLIDER DISCOVERS SOMETHING INCREDIBLE AT THE TOP OF GREAT PYRAMID OF GIZA
The oldest of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World, the Great Pyramid of Giza, is quite a sight, but you might be surprised by what one intrepid traveller found at its base. If you're at all interested in history, you probably know that the Egyptian pyramid, which housed the pharaoh Khufu's tomb, was constructed in or around 2600 BC.
This well-known landmark was once a massive 146.6 meters tall, but it has worn down to 138.5 meters throughout a millennium. Even so, The Collector claims that more than 14 million visitors visit the World Heritage site annually to take in its splendour. It's truly breathtaking to look at. Marshall Mosher, a businessman and self-described "adventure athlete," was one of these visitors recently.
He wasn't satisfied with just being able to view the Great Pyramid of Giza from below, though. Instead, the social media celebrity decided to take things a step further and fly over the Egyptian skies in his paramotor, a powered paraglider, to get the best view in the house. This week, Mosher shared a video to his Instagram that went viral and showed him soaring above the building.
He wasn't, however, negotiating for what he saw trotting around on top, we can wager. He wrote to his 280,000 followers, "Today, paragliding over the Great Pyramids of Giza was a surreal reminder that no dream is too big."
We too can leave enduring legacies when we pursue our goals with unwavering determination, just as these ancient monuments that were constructed stone by stone via sheer willpower, perseverance, and vision have withstood the test of time. He went on, "Why not pursue the life of our dreams? We live in an era where the extraordinary is within reach, more than ever before," before describing how "awe-inspiring" it was to be floating above the pyramids.
