SMART DOG TAKES THE BUS ALONE TO GO FOR WALKS IN THE PARK
Eclipse is a very self-reliant dog who walks out of her house by herself every morning. She has a goal to reach the dog park in the centre of Seattle's downtown. Eclipse has grown to be a favourite among Seattle commuters over time. She is now regarded as an inspiration and is referred to as an "independent woman." She waits calmly at the bus stop near her house every day, just like a very good girl should. She boards her bus and is welcomed by jubilant fans as it arrives. Due to this unusual behaviour, the Mastador dog—which is half Mastiff and half Labrador—has developed a sizable social media following
Eclipse "takes the bus downtown to the dog park where she spends a couple of hours getting exercise and making friends, and then she takes the bus back home again," according to a Seattle-based observer who posted a comment on the adored dog's Facebook page. Even her personal bus pass is fastened to the collar. However, the typical dog is unable to "walk themselves."
So, how did Eclipse pick up the skill of riding the bus? It all started in 2015 when Eclipse's human companion Jeff Young noticed that the robot was taking too long to extinguish his cigarette. The impatient dog, who she recognised from their regular trips, left him and boarded the next bus heading home.
"I get phone calls about once a week, probably," Young said to a local Seattle news station. Eclipse, your dog, is with me at 3rd and Bell. I have to say, 'No, she's okay.' She is skilled at what she does. Eclipse never stops brightening and making everyone she rides with happy. She is a skilled navigator who should never be left waiting, as she has demonstrated over the past five years.
