THE POV OF A FIREFIGHTER FIGHTING A HOUSE FIRE

Among the bravest people in the world are firefighters. Even if it means risking their own lives, they don't think twice about saving others from peril. Although it can be difficult to understand the true danger of the circumstances they frequently encounter, a perceptive segment of GoPro footage gives us a horrifying look.

The moment he and his colleagues entered a burning house was captured on camera by firefighter Joseth Abel Espinosa of the Third Fire Company of Ñuñoa in Santiago, Chile. In the video, Espinosa is seen launching himself into action and rolling out the hose as the house collapses.

The sound only heightens the video's frightful effect, between the firefighter's breathing difficulties and the crinkling of burning objects. Even though the clip is shorter than four minutes, the perilous circumstance gives it a longer, more intense feel. One can only speculate how the firefighter felt under his suit if it's a frightening sight to watch from the comfort of a screen.

"Fortunately, no one was hurt even though the house was destroyed," GoPro disclosed in the video's caption. For providing a unique, first-hand account of the extent firefighters go to in order to assist those in need, the video also took home a GoPro award. "We thank our first responders + everyday heroes for their selfless actions day in + day out," the company says in closing.
