VIDEO: PEOPLE THOUGHT SHE WAS CRAZY UNTIL THEY SAW HER NAME
19-year-old Bindi Irwin, the strikingly beautiful daughter of wildlife expert, the late Steve Irwin, has proved to fill her dad's shoes, following in his footsteps for wildlife conservation and education.
It is evident that she shows the same natural charm and close connection with animals of all kinds that Steve showed the world. Bindi and her brother, Robert, have been in the spotlight from an early age, appearing on her father’s show The Crocodile Hunter as young as six months old. During the filming of a commercial, Steve Irwin placed toddler Bindi on a crocodile’s back and said: “You’re watching Animal Planet with the Crocodile Hunter, and family!” Now, if anyone else besides Steve Irwin attempted this, call child services and possibly the mental hospital!
It's clear to see she is no stranger to animals and the world has watched her grow up from her father’s adorable sidekick, through the aftermath of his tragic passing, to the confident and eloquent young lady she is today. She has shown off her talents to the world, trying many new things including acting, singing, hosting TV shows and even appeared on a season of Dancing With The Stars.
She still lives and works at Australia Zoo, which was founded and has been run by the Irwin family since 1970. “I have spent my entire life living in a zoo, which is pretty crazy. Not many kids get to say that,” she told E! News. “It took me until I was about three years old to realise that we didn’t just come to the zoo every day, that we actually lived here.”
She is certainly doing a fantastic job of keeping her father's legacy alive!
