VIDEO: THROUGH THE LOOKING GLASS OF DUSTIN YELLIN'S ART
Art and inspiration can be found anywhere if you look hard enough. Artist, Dustin Yellin, found his inspiration in photographs as many other artists do... but not in the traditional sense. Yelin became famous for his art and sculptures that use multiple layers of glass that creates a 3D image.
He layers each slab of glass with tiny pictures of different colours as well as patches of paint. When the glass is stacked on top of one another, the layers create a realistic sculpture. The intricacies of the process can still be seen in the individual pictures and paints but the whole picture is where the art lies. When the art weighs over 800 pounds per piece, its a little hard to steal! An added security extra!
This obviously requires a ton of patience and a keen eye for minuscule detail. What do you think of these artworks?
