DOG RAISED WITH CATS LEARNS TO PURR WHEN GETTING PET

A sweet pup named Winston has learned a very unique and unlikely new skill along the way.  The adorable sweet pup loves nothing more than the warm affection he gets from his family. And with his new skill he definitely shows it.

It is not exactly what you might think it is. When Winston was adopted into Beth Clark’s family as a puppy, he has been surrounded by several cat siblings who taught him a thing or two. The Clarks rescue and foster cats, so Winston learned early and often what felines are all about.

Beth said, “He joined six cats. They all bonded together in such a loving way.” On one particular day Winton’s mother noticed the then four-month-old pup making an unexpected sound when she pet him. The funny sound appeared to be a purr just like the sounds cats make.

“At first, I was taken aback. But I quickly figured out that what he was actually doing was a vocal expression of contentment that he had learned from his siblings!”

Still to the day Winston never forgot his new trick and still purrs every time he is happy. Even though it is a very unusual sound for a dog, Winston’s mom wouldn’t have it any other way.  "It shows that no matter the species, the ability to express love and affection can transcend even the most obvious differences!"
