Just when you think the world forgot about that time when you tried to disguise yourself from the paparazzi by putting on 27 layers of sunscreen, it’s brought up again. And not in everyday conversation with friends around the braai, but during and Instagram Live chat with Instagram big boss, Adam Mosseri.
Yes, that’s what happened to Facebook CEO, Mark Zuckerberg, earlier this week. Mosseri referenced photos that went viral after Zuckerberg was photographed with a face ‘disguised’ under layers of sunscreen during a surfing session in 2020.
Since the incident took place in Hawaii, several hilarious memes have been doing the rounds, and Zuckerberg has been linked to looking like The Joker, the Queen, Mrs. Doubtfire and a mime.
During the interview Zuckerberg admitted that it was a mistake and that his disguise did anything but make him blend in.
"I noticed there was this paparazzi guy following us and, so I was like, 'Oh I don’t want him to recognize me, so you know what I’m gonna do? I’m just gonna put a ton of sunscreen on my face," Zuckerberg said.
"And that backfired. I really should have thought that one through more."
You think? Since when is sunscreen the ultimate disguise and why didn’t anyone tell him that it's not going to work?
