NETFLIX RELEASES MA RAINEY’S BLACK BOTTOM TRAILER
The trailer for Ma Rainey's Black Bottom, Chadwick Boseman's last movie before his death, has been released.
Netflix released the trailer for the highly anticipated Ma Rainey's Black Bottom yesterday, and if the excitement and hype around the trailer is anything to go by, it's going to be a brilliant movie.
The movie is an adaptation of August Wilson's play of the same name. The movie focuses on a Southern singer called Ma Rainey and her trumpeter, Levee, as they perform together in 1920's Chicago.
The movie highlights the racial tension that was visible 100 years ago, yet still remains a controversial topic worldwide.
What makes this movie so special is the fact that Viola Davis, who stars as Ma Rainey, is joined by the late Chadwick Boseman as Levee.
Boseman passed away on 28 August at the age of 43 of colon cancer. He kept his diagnosis private from most people, even those who worked closely with him on this movie.
But enough with the sad stuff. This movie should be hailed as the Black Panther actor's last bit of magic he brought to our screens.
Whether this is your type of movie or not, watch it just to experience the brilliance of Boseman.
And if you really can't see yourself watching Ma Rainey's Black Bottom, then at least watch Black Panther again. You can't go wrong with that one.
