In every romantic movie you've ever seen, two people experience a "meet-cute". A meet-cute is basically when the two people (who are about to fall in love) first meet. But it's not just any meeting. It's an adorable, life-changing moment that fate and destiny have made to make your eyes meet with your soulmate.
An example of a meet-cute could go something like this: a man and a woman walk into a store looking to buy pyjamas. The man says to the saleswoman, "I just need some pants". The woman tells her, "I just need a top". They look into each other's eyes – and live happily ever after.
Another example would be two teenage students at a school who bump into each other and drop all their books. As they lean down to pick up all the papers, their hands touch. At that point in the movie, you'll start to see slow motion and hear romantic music as they first look into each other's eyes.
That kind of cliché meet? That's a meet-cute.
