So, you have to come up with your own rules, because parenting isn't nearly as easy as the books tell you. Tantrums, fussy eaters and completely uncontrollable kids can completely ruin any day. And because every kid is different, you need to find your own ways of keeping them in check. 

For example, kids often have a strong resistance to any chores and anything that involves cleaning. Mothers can get exhausted cleaning up after their kids and their attempts to get their children to help is usually a fruitless pursuit.
