VIDEO: VINCE VAUGHN THROWN IN JAIL FOR DRIVING DRUNK
Vince Vaughn was stopped an arrested in the early hours of Sunday morning (10 June 2018) at a police checkpoint. Manhattan Beach law enforcement confirmed that he was charged with a DUI and resisting arrest while his passenger was arrested on charges of public intoxication. However SGT. Tim Zins revealed to CNN that Vaughn wasn't necessarily fighting the police but delaying the sobriety test.
Due to this being Vaughn's first DUI charge, both he and his passenger were able to post bail to be released. Vaughn failed the initial field test and opted for a further blood test to provide results on his blood-alcohol level instead of a standard breathalizer, however his car was impounded. Both men will be appearing in court but the court date has not been announced.
Although this is Vaughn's first DUI, he had been arrested in 2001 for a drunken bar fight in which Steve Buscemi was stabbed multiple times while trying to break up the fight between Vaughn, screenwriter Scott Rosenberg and a local man. Vaughn, who was shooting “Domestic Disturbance” in the area at the time, was arrested for assault following the brawl but the charges were later dropped.
Vaugn's spokesperson has not released a statement but Vaughn's seemingly cheerful mugshot has been released, showing him grinning in the booking photo. Last week, the Manhattan Beach Police Department announced the checkpoint on Facebook to demonstrate their “zero tolerance” strategy to drinking and driving.
“The Wedding Crashers” actor now awaits the court date when he will face the full consequences.
