Dating today can sometimes feel like it's impossible. Our expectations are so high: find prince charming, go on a date, fall in love and live happily ever after.
The reason we have these expectations is because of movies. Those damn rom-coms are always convincing us that finding your soulmate is as easy as going to the right coffee shop and having a meet-cute that someone could write a romance novel about.
But in reality? Well, we just go to a coffee shop. And we walk out with coffee. Not a date.
So, some people go with a different approach, which can be equally as awful. Dating apps, online matchmakers, blind dates and, worst of all, speed dating.
All of these things really just point out the shallow pool of single people out there who aren't completely obvious psychopaths.
Why do people even go speed-dating? In hindsight, it's just an awful idea.
