So, they say we are all going to die anyway so we may as well just pick our poison (who doesn't love a good glass of wine or 10, right?) but do we ever actually think about that poison.

Today is World No Tobacco Day and we aren't gonna preach the health implications blah blah blah because you have probably heard it all before. Nonetheless, it is good to stay aware of what happens when you smoke.

The industry is HUGE with 8 million adults who smoke 27 billion cigarettes per year in South Africa alone. But smoking rates in SA have decreased from 33% to 21% over the past few years, mainly due to the fact that smoking a pack a day can burn a hole in your bank account. Smokers spend from about R200 per month for 5 cigarettes a day, to R1,620 a month for 41 cigarettes a day – and more for even heavier smokers.

Studies also showed that smokers start young and that they begin smoking in their early teen years due to peer pressure and see their role models smoking. But, in true millennial style, we will make light of the situation by making jokes... but seriously though... smoking is dangerous.
