800,000 LEGO CHERRY BLOSSOM TREE BREAKS GUINNESS WORLD RECORD
We all know the joyful feeling when it comes to spring. The time when the beautiful new flowers and colours come popping out, painting the land once again after a cold and dead winter.
Each country has a unique look to it when its spring making residents excited for the change. During spring time, people from all over the world flock to experience Japan’s candy-pink cherry blossoms in all their glory. However due to a sad and short bloom period, many are left wishing they could stay around a little longer.
However, there is one very unique cherry blossom tree which is in bloom all year-round. This unique cherry blossom is made entirely from LEGO bricks. This record-breaking sculptures was created by LEGOLAND Japan to celebrate the theme park’s first anniversary.
And what a unique work it is. The 14 feet tall and almost 5 feet wide tree comes in at an incredible 3,333 kg, and has set a new Guinness World Record for the “largest LEGO brick cherry blossom tree.”
This masterpiece did require some time and effort. It was originally designed in the Czech Republic, and shipped to Japan to be assembled. In total the piece required over 6,500 hours to be completed and consists out a total of 881,470 lego bricks. The impressive piece features a grassy base, large branches, a canopy with thousands of flowers, and even LEGO lanterns that illuminate the structure at night.
