This pandemic has definitely brought about really bad things for ordinary people (hello, masks!), but it has also brought about really good things for celebs (hello, masks!). At least now the field has been levelled and we're all just eyes behind masks.
While this means that celebs can walk around without being recognised, harassed for autographs or photographed by the paparazzi, it also means that they're seen as just ordinary people.
A hostess at an International House of Pancakes (IHOP) in the United States didn't recognise actor and comedian, Adam Sandler, when he enquired about how long the waiting list was to get a table at the restaurant.
She treated him like an ordinary person and told him that he would have to wait 30 minutes. That's when the actor turned around and left the restaurant without complaining. It was only when the next customer in line asked the hostess if that was Adam Sandler, that she recognised him.
The hostess then posted a TikTok video telling her followers of the ordeal and apologising to the actor. The video has since gone viral, but for a different reason than you might think. A lot of people have praised Sandler for not throwing the "do you know who I am" tantrum that some celebs are known for. Instead, he just accepted the situation and turned around.
People reported that the 54-year-old actor reacted to the video on Twitter, joking, "For the record, I only left the IHOP because the nice woman told me the all-you-can-eat deal didn't apply to the milkshakes."
