SANTA FE HIGH SCHOOL SHOOTING SURVIVOR PAYS TRIBUTE TO FALLEN STUDENTS DURING AMERICAN IDOLS AUDITION

During its existence, American Idol has found talented singers who have risen to stardom. Now, the show is using the platform to spotlight  powerful stories of resilience and hope. Trey Lewis, a 21-year-old mattress salesman from Texas, auditioned for the 21st season of American Idol. After a flawless performance of  Whiskey Myers' "Stone," he told the judges  what it meant  to be on stage without leaving  the audience dry-eyed.

After  three celebrity judges — Lionel Richie, Katy Perry, and Like Brian — applauded Louis for his singing skills and compared him to country star Chris Stapleton, Brian asked why he was auditioning for American Idol. Luis explained that he was from the city of Santa Fe, where  eight students and two teachers were killed by gunmen who entered the school in May 2018. He added, "I've lost a lot of friends."

Perry wept. "It's not normal. You have to sing here not because you have to go through it, but because you love the music. "I don't have to lose eight friends." "I hope it reminds people that we have to change."

"We put up with it so long, it's become the norm." Richie added solemnly. Perry begged Louis to do this. “We must change and  hope you can  lead. Can you provide this service? "For me, for the school, for you - I understand," the young singer replied sternly.

When it was time to vote, the three judges voted in favor of him, and Brian was speechless. The celebs who had auditioned with joy stood up, hugged Louie and announced that they had advanced to the next round of her, proceeding with a hilarious protocol. "That's exactly what I'm talking about. See you in California, darling!" the collected but cheerful Texas singer announces as he leaves the room.

“It is important  to share the story of my hometown. For Parkland,  Columbine,  Las Vegas and more,” said Louis  after auditioning. “What we go through every day because of what happened is terrible. There is light and there is positivity. All you have to do is follow him. Santa Fe,  I don't stop. I have all my motives behind me. You are all  behind me," he said.
