VIDEO: STUDENT TRICKS PROFESSOR INTO THINKING WAKANDA IS REAL
Black Panther ended up being a massive hit, breaking records everywhere as fans got fully involved in the story, it's one of the first major films to tackle the issues affecting modern-day black life and showing Africa in a positive, powerful light.
The Black Panther movie was so inspiring that one student decided to base his presentation on Wakanda for his International Marketing class. The main theme focused on the struggles of the (fake) African nation, which his professor completely believed, thinking that this was a small African country she had never heard of.
Then she went home, Googled it, and the game was up...
Redditer, AlexyShved1, said that "she (the professor) was super curious and believed it the entire time up until the part where the guy in the back told her it was a tragedy that she hadn’t heard of. At that point, she didn’t want to believe it but I kept going on and she didn’t think I would’ve put so much effort into a fake country. She was skeptical at parts, but really just kept believing it. She’s also the type of person who only watches tennis on TV so she had no clue what Black Panther was until we told her about the movie shortly afterwards."
At least the assignment didn't count for marks but A+ for effort!
