When you first move out of the parents' place, this is pretty much what you have in mind:

You're on your own now - an independent individual with the freedom to do whatever you please. Of course, you'll be responsible. You'll cook your own gourmet meals, pay all those bills on time. Please Mom, OF COURSE my place will be spotless all the time. 

Hmmm. Does it ever really turn out that way? Or do you end up eating cereal out of a Tupperware for breakfast, lunch and dinner, calling Dad for some bucks?
