IMPRESSIVE WOODEN TYPING HAND AUTOMATON
German artist Uri Tuchmann is an expert in creating unique steampunk gadgets and has yet again blown our creative minds with another clever project. This time he has created a beautiful pair of wooden mechanical hands with posable fingers that look like they're typing or tapping as they move. This is part of a larger installation sent to the Tel Aviv Museum of Art.
Tuchman hand-sculpted the hands out of wood by hand-carving the nail bed. He then had to cut off his fingers and reattach them piece by piece to create the movement needed for the project.
Ironically, Tuckman thought it was very funny that after completing the project, he actually injuring his hand.
