MOTHER MORTIFIED AFTER RABBIT VIBRATOR WAS FOUND IN CONSOLE BOX SHE SOLD
Hoping to raise a bit of cash ahead of Christmas, a
mother-of-three advertised and sold her son's old gaming console. However, this
mother was "mortified" after she accidentally gave the buyer one of
her vibrators.
Sara Foggo stumbled cross a Sega Mega Drive as they were busy cleaning out the kids’ bedroom. The 34-year-old mother advertised the retro gaming console on Facebook Marketplace for £25, where gamer Shane Tutton spotted the item and quickly made the purchase. Shane asked a mutual friend James Bishop, to pick it up for him.
On the day James arrived to pick up the console, Sara was
suspicious about how heavy the box was, but thought nothing more of the sale.
Less than 24 hours later, a hungover Sara was confused when she
received a message from James which said that his friend was happy with the
console but "there was a rabbit jumping about in a sock" in the box.
Confused Sara asked what he meant and was left mortified when he told her it
was a "rampant", and then followed up with a picture.
The photo showed the Mega Drive lying on the carpet and
underneath the box was a purple vibrator sticking out of a polkadot sock.
"I was absolutely mortified but I couldn't stop laughing.
Stuff like this only happens to me. I was confused when he first messaged me,
but when that picture came through I just thought 'oh my God'. I put the
console on Marketplace and I had a few people that messaged but they messed me
about. I've known James for a few years and he asked if he could come and get
it for Shane on Saturday, which worked great for me. It was my birthday a few
days earlier so I was having a few drinks to celebrate so I went and grabbed
the console from my son's bedroom and put it next to the door ready for James. When
I grabbed the box I thought it was especially heavy but I just thought it was
the manuals. James came that afternoon and I handed it over to him. It wasn't
until he messaged me on Sunday saying about the rabbit hopping that I heard
anything else."
"I just couldn't work out what he meant. When he said a
'rampant' one and sent me the picture over, I could have died. I wouldn't have
minded, but the Rabbit was worth more than what I sold the Sega for. I won it in
a competition a few years back but it normally costs £45. I only sold the Mega
Drive for £25. He's got a right bargain. I had asked him for it back but I
think he thought I was joking. I'm not sure I want it now though. I don't know
Shane but it was lucky it was for him and not a child. Imagine if a kid had
opened this Sega box on Christmas Day hoping to play Sonic and there's a big 10
inch Rampant Rabbit with its tail spinning. I joked that I should set up a
GoFundMe for a replacement as it's going to be lonely this Christmas,"
Sara explained.
Sara became even more mortified and shocked when she realised
that the sock holding the Rampant Rabbit was not hers, but instead it belonged
to her mother.
Sara further added that "It was in a sock, I don't know
why, and when I uploaded the exchange to Facebook, my mum messaged me saying it
was hers. I couldn't believe it. She's had a laugh about it which is good. I'm
even more out of pocket though, I'm going to have to buy her a new pair now. I
can't remember why I put the Rabbit in that box. People have asked why it was
in a children's console box and I honestly have no idea."
