VIDEO: KATY PERRY GONE WILD?
Katy Perry has been under the public spotlight lately after kissing a contestant on American Idol during his audition. The contestant, Benjamin Glaze, admitted that he had never kissed a woman before to which Katy Perry responded by asking for a kiss on the cheek and abruptly turned her head, locking lips with him. A lot of fans were outraged saying that it was inappropriate and had the roles been reversed, it would have been considered sexual harassment. Glaze released a statement saying that he didn't feel sexually harassed but only a bit uncomfortable. In a later interview, he said: “Would I have done it if she said, ‘Would you kiss me?’ No, I would have said no,” he said. “I know a lot of guys would be like, ‘Heck yeah!’ But for me, I was raised in a conservative family and I was uncomfortable immediately. I wanted my first kiss to be special.”
Katy Perry's own parents put her into the spotlight this time when they came to one of the American Idol shows and made Katy squirm in her seat. Mary Christine and Maurice Keith Hudson are both Pentecostal pastors who raised Katy in a strictly religious manner in Santa Barbara, California so it's no surprise that Katy's rise to fame and controversial career has put a strain on their relationship. Her dad has often preached about her ungodliness and openly disapproved of her ex-husband, Russell Brand. This occasion was no different when host Ryan Seacrest asked how it felt to watch their daughter on the judging panel to which her mother replied: 'She's still the bird, she's still mouthy, and they add wisdom to that,' said Mary, while gesturing to Katy's fellow judges, Lionel Richie and Luke Bryan. She added: 'She's the middle child, they always want the most attention.'
After squirming in her seat, Katy smirked saying:"I feel like it turned out ok for them". Katy poked at her parent's religion again after the last performance of the night, which came from a former rodeo man, Cade Foehner. The 21-year-old Texan did a rocking performance of Bob Dylan's All Along The Watchtower after which Luke joked about the 'hip thrusts' while Katy pretended to be worried by the sexual nature of Cade's routine. Katy chimed in asking: "Are we allowed to show this on ABC? I saw some things that my minister parents had to…" she gasped in mock horror. 'I'm a minister too, so it's OK,' said Cade. "You sure are a minister and you can preach to me any time you want." cooed Katy, who then removed her sequined cardigan and lurched towards Cade.
We aren't so sure which incident was more cringe-worthy but let's hope she gets it together before there are more casualties.
