CLEVER CAT LURES DOG BROTHER INTO HIS CRATE TO GET ALONE TIME
Little Milo found his forever and loving home one day after he wandered into Erika Longo’s apartment as a stray cat. Instantly falling in love with Milo, Longo adopted him and gave him a home. The 5-year-old tabby has since enjoyed life as an only pet receiving all the attention and love, however it all changed a bit when his mom brought home a golden retriever puppy named Beckham, which he now had to share cuddles with.
The rescue cat has become used to being spoiled by his mom and always gets his way. “He has a very big personality. He prefers the expensive, higher-quality things in life.” So it is expected that Milo won’t be to happy about having to share that attention with the cute excitable puppy.
“He did not like him when we first brought Beckham home, and it’s taken about a year for him to get used to him. Milo cuddles up to him occasionally, and Beckham will lick him. Other times, Milo gets annoyed with our dog and will swat at him. It’s a love-hate relationship.”
The little pup doesn’t seem to have a care in the world about what his brother thinks of him, all he cares about is being near him. “Beckham absolutely adores and loves Milo and always wants to play or cuddle with him.”
Soon after the pup arrived, Longo started crate training Beckham. But that wasn’t all she was teaching something new too. The clever Milo picked up a trick and came up with his very own plan to temporarily get rid of his brother. Whenever Milo gets a bit annoyed with his energetic brother Beckham, he simply go and sit in Beckham’s dog crate and wait for Beckham to go for the bate. And as always, Beckham always wants to be close to his brother and then follows Milo into the crate. But then the clever Milo has a sneaky trick up his sleeve. After Beckham is fully in the crate, Milo quickly exits.

“He usually stands at the opening of the crate for a little bit just staring at Beckham. Sometimes, he partially shuts the door with his nose or paw. After that, Milo usually comes over to me wanting pets.”
Adorable Beckham simply believes that he can’t exit the crate, even if the door is not completely closed. And after Milo gets the pets and cuddles he demanded, Longo has to go and help Beckham out.
With the video Longo posted on TikTok of the new love-hate routine, she wrote, “This happens at least once a day.”
Milo has been tricking his brother and ‘locking’ him up for three months, and the adorable pup still hasn’t figured out the trick. The more time the two spend together, even during the whole switch-a-roo trick, the closer and stronger their friendship becomes.
