Since it's women's month this month and National Girlfriends day on the 1st of August, it seems apt to celebrate the best friendship of all... the friendship between girlfriends! No one will be as brutally honest as your girlfriend yet kind at the same time!

There is no one better to have your back than your girl squad and you can be sure that if you hate someone, they definitely do too! They will even listen to you speak about the same rubbish time and time again, tell you it's rubbish, but they will still listen another hundred times.

Ask a guy to take a pic of you for Instagram – you get one photo (probably with half his thumb over it) but if you ask a girl, best you believe it will turn into a full-on photoshoot with hundreds of photos all with a different filter on it. As Oprah Winfrey said, “Lots of people want to ride with you in the limo, but what you want is someone who will take the bus with you when the limo breaks down.”

I mean, it's cute that boys think conversations that go on between them and their crush or significant other are actually private. We will put money on the fact that those messages have been put on a group chat and pulled apart by at least four girls. Not to mention that girls are born with innate investigative abilities to put the FBI to shame! Oh, you're dating someone? We will know their home address, blood type and all the places they visited in the last six years, all in the space of five minutes!

Let's not forget the girls night out and, of course, looking after the friend that's white girl wasted!
