DENTIST SET GUINNESS RECORD FOR LARGEST TOOTHPASTE TUBE COLLECTION
Val Kolpakov, a dentist from Alpharetta, Georgia, set a unique record for the largest collection of toothpaste tubes. Kolpakov told Guinness World Records that he created this growing collection of 2,037 tubes out of professional curiosity. “I started my collection in 2001 as a dentist to learn more about all the toothpastes available on the market... I quickly realised that it was a very interesting hobby and I tried to collect some old toothpaste and tubes from other countries,” he explained.
Kolpakov also talked about the wide variety of toothpaste in his collection, especially those with unusual flavours and/or ingredients. He continued: “My favourites... This is a whiskey-flavoured set. These are rye, scotch and bourbon. Don't brush or drive... These are German toothpastes from the trenches of World War II. I think this is one of the most unusual because Doramad toothpaste is radioactive. It actually contained the radioactive compound thorium, because at the time it was believed that radioactive compounds revived tissue and were good for the skin and teeth. Nihilistic toothpaste.
He also has a tube of Brenner toothpaste, a brand that doesn't exist in the real world. There is no such brand... It was made specifically for the TV series "Prison Break" - it used phosphoric acid inside the tube to corrode the pipes, which would help them escape...
