Antonio Banderas has been well-known for decades in all households. From Zorro to the gunslinging Mariachi, he was instantly an audience favourite. After then, he ever joined big budget franchises like Spy Kids and Shrek.

However, recently, we don't hear from Banderas anymore. Some may assume his fame has fizzled, but there actually many reasons why Banderas has dropped off the scene a bit. This video explains these reasons.

Firstly, there was his typecast issue. From the beginning of his time on the screen, Banderas was pigeonholed as a passionate, sexy character. This may seem great, but it made playing other roles very difficult.

His involvement in Spy Kids and Shrek (as Puss in Boots) was a huge success but, like all franchises, they eventually fizzled out.

Banderas also had side gigs going on in his life such as cologne, fashion and writing. He also played a big role in his foundation for cancer.

In addition, after his divorce, Banderas decided to dedicate more time to his family.

In a scare, Banderas also had a heart attack on the set of a movie. Although he tried not to make a big deal out of it, it made directors hesitant to hire him for fear of affecting his health.

Finally, Banderas left Hollywood for the UK.
