ARTIST TRANSFORMS SCRAP PARTS INTO UNIQUE ANIMAL SCULPTURES
Artist Brian Mock has found a very unique and creative way to put old, discarded materials to use. Mock up-cycles old scrap metals into shiny fine art. The Oregon-based artist uses his artistic talents to create exquisite metal animal sculptures by welding nuts, bolts, and other pieces of scrap metal together.
Mock has created magnificent sculptures varying from cats to dogs and even mountain lions and bears These amazing three-dimensional art spans the breadth of the animal kingdom. His art clearly displays the original source of his materials as he integrates every individual item into the subject's design which gives a clever futuristic effect. Most of Mock's artworks are life-size, which adds to their striking visual appeal. Mock amusingly welds his sculptures into naturalistic poses which reveals the animals original behavior and personality.
“I am intrigued by the challenge of creating an entirely unique piece from an eclectic collection of discarded objects. Giving these old, common items a new and extraordinary life as one sculpture is an artistically challenging yet gratifying process. This type of work is also designed to be highly interactive and prompt viewers to question the reality of what they see.”
